Two teenagers have been arrested after police were called to reports of a large altercation involving young adults in Worthing last Tuesday (May, 26).
Officers said they attended the incident in Goring Gap, Marine Drive, at around 6.30pm.
An 18-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive words, or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He was given a caution.
A 17-year-old boy from Billingshurst was arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive words, or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Acting Sergeant Elizabeth Reschwamm said:
"This is example of the sort of challenging situations our officers deal with and shows our teams working together to take action in West Sussex.
"We are continually working hard to prevent and disrupt crime and are committed to keeping our local communities safe."
