Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Lewes town centre.
It happened at around 2.30am on Saturday, May 28th.
Following extensive enquiries, police are now asking the public if they saw anything and urging them to get in contact.
The victim was walking down the High Street in the direction of Lewes Railway Station when a man, sitting with another man and a woman opposite the Lansdown pub, became verbally abusive.
When asked to stop, the man’s behaviour became threatening and he punched the victim multiple times leaving him with injuries that required hospital treatment.
