In a "cruel and heartless attack", an elderly woman walking her dogs in Peacehaven has been robbed of a valuable Rolex watch that belonged to her late son.
Police said the watch was stolen while the 74 year-old victim was resting on a bench in The Big Park in Piddinghoe Avenue, accompanied by her two pets.
At about 12.45pm on Sunday June 14, two men approached her, with one asking the time.
The other man grabbed the Rolex which she was wearing, and ran off through Flint Way.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Officers said the watch is a Rolex Submariner with a blue bezel face and a silver-and-gold strap.
Its estimated value is between £8,000 and £10,000.
Police described the suspect who stole the watch as a man, 5'10" tall, and wearing a blue-neck jumper or t-shirt, and black shorts.
Both men were aged between 25 and 40, and were wearing medical masks.
PC Anna Batchelor said:
"The victim has been left extremely shaken, and is heartbroken and shocked that the watch has been stolen.
"This was a cruel and heartless attack on a lone woman.
"It belonged to the victim's son who sadly died ten years ago.
"Although the watch was quite old and worn, it was of huge sentimental value and she desperately wants it back."
