Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Selsey which left a woman with serious injuries.
It happened on the B2145 Selsey Road about 10.25pm last Tuesday (August 9) while the victim was crossing the road.
The vehicle in question was described as being modified and very loud.
Police were told that the car initially stopped and the driver spoke to the victim before leaving the scene "at speed" in the direction of Chichester.
Paramedics attended to the victim, who was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with injuries not thought to be life-threatening and police closed the road during this time.
Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who may have captured any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
