A small business owner in Worthing was one of six weekly winners to gain a "retweet" from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis who has nearly half a million followers.
Maryann, who started Boom Sauce in 2019, was in the very small percentage of winners (4%) who won the award in under a year of trading.
She had tweeted Theo about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet.
Following postponement of the awards due to lockdowns she was finally able to collect it this month from Theo and attend an event put on by him and his team.
Small Business Award from Theo Paphitis
Maryann said:
"Boom Sauce is an artisan chilli sauce that packs a flavoursome punch and each bottle is made with my extra special pinch of Trini Love.
"I'm always seeking ways to be sustainable and recently committed to plant a tree for every online order. I'm on a mission to shake up the Hot Sauce market and be the next store cupboard essential with new products & stockists lined up for release later this year."
Maryann has grown the business predominately through lockdown and been asked to be an inspirational speaker at many events, one most recently at The Grand Brighton for Acumen Business Convention.
She now has stockists in such locations as Worthing, Ford, Brighton, London, Bedford, Leamington Spa and all the way up to Fife, with the most unique stockist - a Vending Machine in Peckham!
Boom Sauce is also on the menu at some local restaurants, pubs, sauce stations & street food vendors.
