As vote-counters in Worthing Leisure Centre, tallying the ballot for the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, await results from elsewhere in Sussex, they take a little moment after four days of intense work...

Big thanks to the team at Worthing and Adur Councils for this extraordinary effort in support of local democracy.

UPDATE: At 1.50pm, they were back at work, as voting went to another stage, taking into account second preferences after the leading candidate in the first round, Conservative (and incumbent) Katy Bourne, failed to collect half of all first preferences.
